Welcome, children, parents, carers and educators. You are viewing this web site because you care about children and want them to fulfil their potential. We hope that we can assist you with this with our fun, multi-sensory programs designed to make your child laugh and learn.
Good literacy and language skills are at the foundation of our children’s education and will affect their abilities and development throughout their school lives and onwards into their post educational careers.
With over 20 years in the making, Sound Connections is a specialized set of programs designed to develop phonological awareness (awareness of the sound structure of language), reading and writing and oral language. It is more than a program; it is a philosophy towards intensive intervention and stimulation of a child’s brain where potential learning needs could be addressed even before they emerge.
The Sound Connections Programs were written by Annette Rogers; currently a Registered and practicing Speech and Language Pathologist in British Columbia. Annette has over 20 years experience with children and holds additional qualifications in learning disabilities and early childhood studies. In 2007, and again in 2010, Annette was nominated for the Council of the Federation Literacy Award and her contribution to promoting literacy was acknowledged by Gordon Campbell.
Again in 2010, the Province of British Columbia acknowledged Annette by presenting her with an Honourable Mention for her work in creating Sound Connections (for further details follow this "link").
